PRE-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN SUBSTANCE ABUSE EPIDEMIOLOGY


Opportunities are available for pre-doctoral fellowships in substance abuse epidemiology and biostatistics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. This training program is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse/National Institutes of Health. U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents are eligible. Candidates to pursue inter-disciplinary projects incorporating both biomedical and behavioral/social science approaches are particularly encouraged. The Department of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine is one of the premier departments in psychiatry. The Department is internationally recognized for their pioneer work in substance abuse and psychiatric epidemiology, as well as for biostatistics and genetic epidemiology of psychiatric and substance use disorders. Comprehensive training is available in psychiatric epidemiology, substance abuse research, biostatistics, behavioral genetics, and genetic epidemiology. Skill training involves epidemiologic and genetic statistical skills as well as a track-specific learning on genetics and neuroscience disciplines. As part of their fellowships, qualified applicants may elect to pursue a Masters degree in Psychiatric Epidemiology (MPE) or a Masters degree in Genetic Epidemiology Master of Science (GEMS).
